lower slopes of the Nephin Beg Mountains is a easy 10 km Loop Walk begins 3km west of Newport - only a few minutes from the house.Buckfield Inn is a ten minute drive from the starting points of these tracks.

The full day North Mayo Drive will take you to spectacular Cliff scenery as well as numerous sites of historical interest: round towers, abbeys, high crosses, standing stones and ring forts- and, last not least the archeological site of the Ceide Fields, a pre-historic field system dating back some 5000 years in a breathtaking elevated location on the cliffs.
